ABOUT JORDAN ACKER

Jordan’s University of Michigan education set him up for a profoundly fulfilling career as a public servant and an attorney. The University has been a constant presence in his life, from the good times cheering on Wolverines football, to the more trying times when he relied on UM’s world-class hospital system. Now he’s running for the University of Michigan Board of Regents to give back to the institution that has given him so much.

We Need a University of Michigan that Works for All Michiganders

Jordan was born in Michigan. His father is a lawyer and his mother was a union public school teacher. He’s a proud graduate of Berkley School District public schools. Michigan born and raised, it’s no wonder Jordan ended up at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a degree in history. After college, Jordan got to work fighting for a stronger Michigan.

After a successful election cycle in 2006, he had the opportunity to go to Washington, DC and work as a staffer on the House Judiciary Committee. During this time, he was privileged to work on issues ranging from civil rights to the NBA labor dispute. He was also part of the team working to expose and end the Bush Administration illegal torture practices. His experience working in Congress inspired him to earn his law degree.
